About This Author
I am a 40 year old married mother of two teenage boys. I live for writing, especially romance. Love the happily ever after scenerio. The best thing about writing for me is the ability to lose yourself in your work, and feel as if you've accomplished something great. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

INXS X
Writings for "Musicology Anthology" by Jeff I decided to try this and had to go with my all-time favorite band. I remember when this album came out, and INXS was coming to Detroit at Joe Louis Arena. I had to go, but none of my friends wanted to see them. So I bribed my uncle, paid for his ticket, drove, and hell yeah, I was seeing INXS live and in person. I only knew a handful of this album as it was just coming out on the radio, one hit after another. When you see them perform live, it blows your mind. The energy of Michael Hutchence is infectious. I never sat that entire 2+ hour show [to the embarrassment of Uncle Mark]. I was not a fan of the single Suicide Blonde. I cannot say why; just other tracks spoke to me, but seeing it live, well, I learned the lyrics to that song quickly. I've backtracked to older albums and fell in love with more songs than just the ones I'd already knew. I was devastated by the loss of Michael since I followed this band since I started high school in the early 80s. They were my go-to. I saw them in concert multiple times, each time better than the rest, and the main draw was always the lead singer and his mesmerizing stage presence. Then CBS came up with a brilliant idea to have America help these bands without a singer find one. I thought this was crazy, but I'd love to see INXS return. Whoever they found to replace Michael would have enormous shoes to fill, but with the rest of the band there, I knew I'd follow them. They chose JD, and that one album held up against the others. It's too bad he ditched them at a show in Vegas. I hope through these songs and my writings, you'll get a little taste of how INXS has shaped my life, and what an awesome band they truly are. © Copyright 2024 Purple Princess (UN: purpleprincess at Writing.Com).
