About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write. Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

Modicum - Prompt #4

I am so out of my league when posting my scribbles here, but I enjoy too much the challenge these prompts bring to let my ego get in my way.

You all have my respect,

Who am I that You should consider me?
In all of life’s vastness, I’m but a crumb,
Yet, the great I AM, Creator of ALL,
Regards me equal to His son, the Christ.

Miniscule in the eyes of the world,
But, You, the one beyond all measure,
Considers me Your most important possession
Such a infinite truth boggles my finite mind.

In a society where everything is super-sized
My existence is completely bypassed,
And that’s perfectly OK with me,
For my true value is not measured by earthly gauge.

This fragment of life bows humbly before Your throne;
Reverently I offer my nothing to the God of Everything.
My very existence is but borrowed from You, Lord.
I now return it, use me as You desire.
