About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write. Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

Prompt # 17
"Dear Reader" poem

Another World

Words are mingling together
Sentences are forming magically
Meanings are running, slipping away
Just waiting for you to interpret
Do you know what's between the lines?

There your history all comes back
What you learn keeps interfering
Here your soul travels away
Emotions are ready to direct you
Have you any idea where can it take you?

Language connects you with reality
Images take you out of the world
You are living with other characters
Building solely your own plot
Do you know where you are now?

Thinking of what so far passed
Meditating what for once was right
You are open to new horizons
Logic weighs what has passed by
Will you ever say enough?
