That was fun, and I learned something. Just because you have an idea that's in the fantasy genre doesn't mean that the drama is secondary. Doing this exercise, I typed the entry and found that the fantasy element became secondary to the original idea. Thanks Joy, and great newsletter ~Lee "Invalid Entry" The young prophetess, sitting on the marble floor and facing two swordsmen bent on the other's destruction, reminded the men of a silent enemy threatening the world. An adolescent missionary travels from a foreign land, guided by a vision of a pending apocalypse, and a plan to halt it. She comes upon two warring factions and begins a series of covert manipulations in order to bring bother sides together. Two leaders, an emperor vying for a unified continent and a rebel fighting for freedom, endure a series of trials in order to cover up a plot they believe their enemy initiated. Entering a mysterious hovel occupied by the prophet, the adversaries face their manipulator and agree to peace under the emperor’s totalitarian rule. The unknown enemy invades a united land and overruns the empire, killing its ruler and his family. To counter pending doom, the heroine deploys the forgotten leader of a failed rebellion to the heart of the conquerors base, praying that one can succeed where an army failed. The warrior uses stealth and is successful with his infiltration, ascending the ranks of the “True Race”, and earning the high honor of meeting the empress. The aging hero kneels before the same teenager who stayed his hand years ago, her youthful appearance unchanged from their first moments in the abandoned shanty. The reasons for her manipulations are simple, she believes in the duality of humanity that a “great good” will emerge from the “great evil” she has wrought, but only after the death of those who started humankind’s path to evil- a warmongering emperor, a rebellious terrorist, and an immortal vampire. The empress challenges the rebel to a final duel, assuring him that her death will end the evolution of the “True Race” and his martyrdom will usher in a new era hope. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
