About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write. Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

New Contest!
by A Non-Existent User
The summer contest round for "The Play's The Thing [E] is over and the winners have been announced *Smile*

The 'fall' round is open now and closes on Armistice Day, 11th November 2008. It is a season ripe for action; a time of Harvest, Halloween, and of the first few stories around a fire-side. There are some great prizes up for grabs and contests are also a good way to hone your script writing skills. While not a requirement of the judges, each gave reviews to all the entrants in the last round and passed on valuable advice. I thank them for their time and welcome StephBee to their number in the current round *Smile*

I hope you can find time to enter this round and wish you luck if you do!
Felix.
