About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write. Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

Prompt #52 The Massive White Desk
by A Non-Existent User
A huge white desk appeared in a room
Finding the room too crowded
She hustled away
Her file cabinet following
Pens and pencils ran after
The desk like children
Afraid to lose their mother

The massive white desk
Settled down in an empty room
Her file cabinet snuggled in
Pens and pencils jumped into
The mouth of the desk
Each pushing for the
Favored slots

The hulking white desk
Wrinkled her paint in distress
She needed a lamp
To light the way
To her magnificence
A stout lamp with a
Crimson shade appeared

The humongous white desk
Closed her drawers in disapproval
The lamp left in shame
A white elegant lamp
With a golden cord
Decorating its neck
Lit on the desk

The gigantic white desk
Pouted out her drawers
Needing a companion
A fine tall backed chair
Rolled into the room
Slipping under the desk
A snug fit

The gargantuan white desk
Called her minions to attention
Pencils chairs lamps and
Cabinets combined
Assembled the perfect office
Waiting for the
Guest of honor
