One should never apologize for puns. Let them stand on their own, to rise into the heavens like the stench of feces-smeared carrion, or crumble into the fertile soil, as they will. To create a pun is to create life, to make a connection between things that probably should have restraining orders out against each other. Puns are patient, puns are kind. Puns do not envy, they do not boast, they are not proud.They are not rude, they're, okay, maybe a little bit self-seeking, they are not easily angered, they keep no record of wrongs. Puns always protect, always trust, always hope, always preserve. And with that, I hope your muse does not desert you. |
