When I write Flash Fiction, I take a few minutes to come up with the first line and then start writing. Using this method, I get 300 words out in about 30 minutes. What I have been doing with this contest is to try and formulate the entire story before I write due to the 15 minute time restriction. In this way, I can get 300-350 words in 15 minutes...but no room for rewrite. Today, I wasn't paying attention to strategy and treated this like I had all day to write. I started with only a first sentence...in the end, I ran out of time ... not my best work I'm afraid. Maybe I am choking as the end approaches.
