Being one who often thrives - or at least feels like he does - on the opportunity to fashion a story around external parameter(s), I initially thought this contest would be right up my alley. However, I totally underestimated the impact of the fifteen minute time limit. In my ignorance, I foolishly equated the time limit with being on a par with a word limit in most respects. Never in a million years did I think I would have such trouble trying to operate within the time constraints that 15 minutes presents. Once that timer starts, I become the master choke-a-holic, constantly referencing that stupid little stopwatch, even though I have thought the thing through beforehand. In that respect, I'm glad I'm going through this because I've learned some things about myself as a writer that I probably would not have become aware of without an exercise like this. So, in that regard, it has already been a highly profitable experience... P.S. I never joke around... Reviewers are much like spouses: Each spends a disproportionate amount of time pointing out your shortcomings... usually with the same net impact!- Indelibleink, May 2010 Hey! Yes, YOU! Go ahead...
