The best part of this contest is having to get something in writing in such a short time. I normally never put words to paper (or the computer screen) until it has been edited at least five times in my head. Sometimes what comes out is nothing like my normal writing, but when I read it over I like it.

It's funny, but for me one of the biggest impediments to getting the story done in time is thinking of names for the characters. I've tried calling them John Smith or something initially, but unless I have the character's real name in mind before I start, my mind freezes up and I can't go any further.
