It's okay not to have happy stories. Doesn't mean something's wrong with you. I may not write dark flash fiction in general but I'm that way with poetry. Even when I am happy myself somehow I end up with poems about depression, cutting, suicide and betrayal. The non-dark poems are just kinda random weird things and not very happy happy either. For fiction, at least you don't have to worry about not doing enough to your characters. I blog with some friends from WDC and we post from our characters' pov. Their characters talk constantly about how the writers torture them and all the stuff they put them through. Makes me feel like I might be too nice to my characters. Sure, they go through a lot for the plot but never quite that much and sometimes I wonder if it's enough.
