I just wanted to share. I got, what appears to be, a pretty interesting craft book for my birthday, over the weekend. (Yes, the big 5-0). Anyway, If you are in a craft rut, or would just like to try something new, you might want to give this book a look-see. It is called "The Big-Ass Book of Crafts", by Mark Montano. I flipped through it a couple of times, then sat down and started reading it last night. It is written in an upbeat, light manner. The instructions are very easy to follow and his basic list of materials are easy to obtain (or in my case, already on hand) There are a number of crafts that include recycled materials, which is always a big bonus to me. Some of the crafts he mentions are family oriented and simple enough for children (which I am sure is a bonus for others). I even found a few in there already that I want to try. So I give the book a thumbs up. I would like to put a plug in here though, he recommends Elmers Glue, which is a good product, but my personal favorite is Aleene's Tacky Glue. It comes in white and clear for basic use. I think the white works better and it dries clear, so no harm, no foul. Just putting in my 2-cents. Enjoy! |
