June 11 - Sew
The Tailor

A tiny leprechaun with sewing kit,
the silk of spiderweb his special thread;
a touch of magic makes its strand so fit
to sew each garment, patterns in his head.
Each morn when he awakens from his bed,
his spider, right beside him, starts their day,
enchantment shining from them where they tread.
All work found in their shop is on display,
apparel, magical in its array
true beauty, an achievement to portray.

Form: Decuain
The Decuain (pronounced deck•won), created by me, is a short poem made up
of 10 lines, which can be written on any subject. There are 10 syllables per line and the poem is
written in iambic pentameter.

There are 3 set choices of rhyme scheme:

ababbcbcaa, ababbcbcbb, or ababbcbccc

For a longer Decuain poem, add more stanzas for a double, triple, quatruple, etc. Decuain.
