Oh, I wish I had a dog,
Someone to scratch behind the ears,
Though we already have two cats,
I wish we had a dog here.

The cats are nice for snuggling,
And Lyla’s a good huntress
But Sadie is real jumpy,
And acts just like a princess.

I want to have a playmate.
A four legged comrade,
We will get a dog soon,
For that I’m very glad.
