That is what I have been doing. Not chaining actually but finding ways to use them to explore an embryonic larger story. So bits of these may find themselves expanded and refined eventually into the larger piece. I have to say it has been very beneficial, although some of the prompts have been difficult to filter through the story idea. Funny thing though, those are the ones that I learned the most from.
