Lol, thanks for adding me and organising this whole thing in what I guess was a short period of time

I'm trying to find my way around the format. Participants create a dedicated Folder with an Item for each exercise, and set the access to this group only? Do we need to do anything else to get it up on the group's Board?

I'm not sure what the 'bitem' format is that (it says here somewhere) you require - except, it's something I understand as the few commands I learned and forgot, where you type before and after the words, and magic things happen?

Is there a specific command in which we should wrap/enclose the whole text of what we submit?

There doesn't seem to be a dedicated group-only forum, or I couldn't find it?

So I will ask my silly question here. I don't have the time or skill to begin a completely new novel just for this exercise, or for NaNo, within time limits, while I'm still writing another one. With no restrictions (and how could they be policed anyway?), an author can 're-write' a novel she has already drafted in full? This places her at a distinct advantage over someone writing from scratch?

That would be a useful revision exercise - a chance to write different and better words than one had to begin with. On the other hand, if one is short of time, one can simply hit the Copy and Paste buttons?

This is why I have an uneasy feeling that there is a big gap in my understanding of all this.
