First of all, i am very flattered you picked me and put me in the your list of authors in the spotlight. Usually i tend to ignore any form of flattery, when one's ego is boosted too much they tend to start thinking less, sadly true for human beings (it does include me). But the person who let me know i am in the spotlight suggested it would be good to introduce myself if i wanted to show my appreciation for putting me on your list. I am a great sci-fi fan first of all. My favorite author is Asimov, favorite book Nightfall. I did read lots of other author's stories and books in the sci-fi department. Personally consider Asimov to be the "golden" author of all times. From today's sci-fi authors (the ones i know for sure are still alive) i know only one that left a memorable impression on me with the Night's Dawn trilogy and that is Peter F. Hamilton. He isn't for me the "golden" author of today, at best he is bronze or silver, not sure yet. He disappointed with dragging out his books a bit too much, but aside from that, his story and ideas are amazing. Yes i've read only the one trilogy, but hey it's 4600 pages total and i want to see how other authors tick too. Won't give up reading until i find the new great author in the sci-fi domain. I just want to read more and better all the time. My greed is limitless in that regard. I started writing because i felt some basic ideas in the sci-fi world is left untouched, ignored or neglected. Sometimes the way someone portrays their ideas or stories and through the words they use, they might seem a bit full of themself. But please try to understand what i do from my point of view, as fan, not as a writer. I wish for the sci-fi genre to thrive; sure there are other genres that have nice stories i enjoyed. I have a multiple of dozen more ideas in my head and listed on paper than the stories i have written. It's difficult to get them out, to write and present the stories the way it would awake interest and catch people's attention. I want them to appeal A LOT, not just be an "uhm yeah, it's interesting, whatever let's move on ..." Personally i think that i have to be dedicated enough to make the stories stay in people's hearts, even if the audience is small. I am far from having achieved my goal in writing. But i am glad i made some progress, because when i joined the site i didn't expect much attention at all. At most i expected a casual "nice" or a smily emoticon. Instead i got some serious reviews of appreciations, there were reviews that reflected a discontent with some aspects of my stories, i still welcome even that sort of feedback, because i need to know what others think if i want them to enjoy what i write. Eventually i will struggle to write a story / novel that gets everyone's attention, even if i end up failing. This site has helped me get some ideas faster out than i could've done on my own. Am very grateful for that. There's so much i want to say and so little time to write, there's also a great need to take time and organize what i write and at the same time i need to keep in touch with what others write, i need to stay updated even if just a little with the sci-fi domain out there and continue my search for the stories that make reading one of my hobbies. Currently take part only in one contest (to help my ideas get out), which gives a daily "theme" to use as guideline for the short stories i write. Sure i might want to join another one, but am not sure if i should or not or which one i should pick. Now from the stories i posted on this site, only one of them is directly related to the ideas i had on my list of "planned to write about" previously to entering the contest. That is my latest story posted (alien shampoo), which i will use as an intro to a series of sci-fi - detective - adventure mix. It will feature doctor Harsh, a man who hunts aliens and ghosts with a burning passion to take revenge, motive is known only to me for now since i don't want to spoil the next episodes. But they will be similar to this one. Not sure i could compete in more contests than just the one i already am in, since i try to write a novel named "Truths of Modern Wanderers". Got only first chapter finished and published (Abducted). Writing style might be considered lacking, but i guarantee it has even more effort put into it than my short stories. When i write on this novel, i try to stay as scientific and factual as possible while including fictional elements. Those fictional elements have to be possible in real life, that's a rule of thumb for me. I aim to make it some sort of revelation book about technology similar to Jules Verne's books about future technology. How succesful i am in that regard is up to the reader to decide. Currently i am writing the second chapter and it will take a while to finish it, since it does have lots of details. I also wrote myself an outline and sketches about characters and background stories for a game i wish to create one day when the chance shows up. I won't tell you the details, but i will let you know there is lots of variety included in character and environment. Tried painting few characters, well i think they are somewhat ok. But the idea itself is also far from being completely finished. Well at least i have a well thought motto, a saying that goes very well with the game. Won't reveal it since i think it's critical to keep it secret until the time comes to advertise the game.
