Two lost souls struggle to survive in a strange and bizarre world.

I'm trying the snowflake method (above is the provocative one-sentence description) but the story is kind of all over the place. So here is a more traditional and simple outline to reorganize my thoughts.

Beginning

A high school student appears in a strange world filled with creatures, plants, and people that she has never seen the like of, one being a fugitive with a limited control of flight. As the young girl runs from trolls, electric fungus, and flying fish the fugitive must learn to control his new power, decide who he can trust, and outwit the pursuing police force who might just be as ruthless as he is.

Basic Story

The two main characters try to survive the challenges they are faced with while also trying to understand the reasons behind the strange events surrounding them. The girl’s challenges include trying to understand how the new world works and how to survive on her own, while the fugitive’s challenge is trying to outrun the police. The strange events are the girl’s sudden appearance in this world and the strange powers the fugitive has.

Ending

They discover that the powers and the girl’s arrival are interconnected and how to send her home. The fugitive learns to open his heart and let people in.
