It is easy to feel that way. We all feel overwhelmed at one time or another. If you feel the novel may lag, go back and fix the premise. Those who know these things say 80% of the novels fail at the premise stage. If you're comfortable with the premise, you have nothing to worry about, except for finding time to do the work. If you have a main character by now and you're not at ease with him/her, work with him/her anyway. You can always turn him/her into a secondary character later and come up with a better main character for the idea. When you get further into the planning, you'll get more acquainted with your novel. It is as if you're newly introduced. Think of it in relationship terms. Many people do not exactly like/know their partners in the beginning or they may like them for the wrong reasons. With a NaNo novel, even on Day 30, you may have doubts, but when you get into the real writing stage and you write 20-30 K words, all you'll think, eat, and drink about will become your novel. Just like a good marriage. ![]() Support RAOK by wearing the RAOK pin
