Why I don't spoil a story.... To many cooks in the kitchen.... My mother's minor in college was English Lit. My father loved to tell a good story. My sister fancied herself a writer until she realized she was good at scenes but not good at finishing things. I learned quickly if I asked them to read something to help improve it, or wanted to discuss the ligitimacy of a characters behavior, I could not in any way shape or form discuss anything beyond what I needed help with.

It would be subjected to hours of I don't like that ending, or have you thought about making her a blond? I think she would be better as a blond. Or my favorite.... Honey, do you really think writing about vampires is the best use of your time?

So I stopped. You get to read what I need help with and that is it. We will not discuss where the story will go from here beyond the relative to the scene I had you read. I don't really care if you think Ann and Frank should end up together instead of Ann and Ted or Ted and Frank. I just want to know if I discribed the scene well enough you know what her dress and the room looks like without it being bogged down in details.

Its not about spoiling or not spoiling the ending it's about saving my sanity and keeping other peoples thoughts about my characters at bay until I know them well enough, I am ready for people to pick them apart at length.
