I wasn't going to respond to this topic even though I find it very interesting but.... I changed my mind. Thanks Ember , lol.

The whole spoil/share versus not to do so is interesting. I've always pretty much been an open book when it came to my stories. Ask me what my book is about and I'll try to find a not too long way to tell you (because the long way makes peoples eyes gloss over). I even post about my stories and on rare moments event a small snippet of the story on my blogs. But I'm also the type that thinks no one will write it the exact way I will and if they want to try go ahead because I'd be happy to see more stories with glbt main characters. I did try and keep a novel a secret once. I called it the "sekrit project" and it was the only novel my writing buddies or anyone else knew nothing about beyond its existence. I also tried writing it by hand. That book is sitting somewhere in parents house in Wyoming with not much past chapter one hand written. And guess what, anyone who reads my prep will know about the novel now. Aeon/Xan is the Sekrit Project. I just am not good at the hide the story thing.

However, I also don't really worry either. There are like what, almost 200 signed up for this challenge. I'd say a good percent are posting considering I leave for a 4 hour work shift and come back to pages to sift through just to keep up on these interesting discussions. Some do view the prep books I guess but not that many. I mean, my prep book has been viewable since 2008 and I have only like 400 views total, seems like a lot but I have a little dinky poll about a novel character name that has like 21000 views. And this is from having the book as anyone can see the item. Those that have it group limited will have less I would imagine. I know as much as I'd like to read through what everyone is doing, between working with Paper Doll Gang to teach reviewing, contests I'm entering, my own prep, novels I'm trying to write still, and that pesky day job thing, I know I don't have the time. I'll help anyone who asks me to help but I don't go around reading everyone else's prep. And I don't expect help when I post. I figure if I want help, I'll ask on scroll then try to figure out what I really want to do anyways no matter the answer. lol
