I love quirks! They make characters seem a little more alive, don't they? The main character in my story is my son Jayden (I know, cheating a bit, but I plan to copy it in to leather bound journals like the one in the story and give it to my kids for Christmas). Anyway, my son has the habit of sticking his tongue out of the side of his mouth when he's concentrating. It's a hereditary 'quirk' and I know this because not only does my daughter do it too, but so does my sister, my nephew, my dad and myself. lol I've also added in (because he does a lot of writing in the story) that he regularly scratches his forehead with his pencil when he's thinking of what to write next. I'm not sure if he actually does that, but I do! It's a habit I got in to while training myself OUT of chewing on the pencil/pen. ![]() My daughter (also in the story) bounces when she's excited - as if she's overfull of energy and needs to expend it somehow... Another funny quirk (just 'cause I'm on a roll now!) is that when I'm drinking (for instance out of a wine glass), I raise my pinky finger. I am in no way posh or from a wealthy background, but somehow I still have this funny little quirk. My sisters and my husband love to tease me about it when they notice it. ![]() Elle Founder of the "Kiwis on WDC!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ** Image ID #1894613 Unavailable ** |
