If I were you, I'd lose the Hitchhiker's reference completely. I have heard that editors don't like unknown authors to compare their books to other, famous novels. So many people compare their novels to Harry Potter or Twilight , and the market is already saturated with those kinds of novels. You may be able to get away with the comparison since Hitchhiker's is an older, not currently "en vogue" book, but I personally wouldn't risk it.

Instead, focus on what makes your novel unique. You have a good hook- "Nick Einstein (no relation) had been minding his own business when the aliens found him, thinking he was someone else, found with technology even the extraterrestrials thought was amazing, that had been sabotaged." so be confident that your novel stands on its own! Mention your intended audience, if you'd like, but use the information from your demographic exercise, not a blanket statement like "people who like Hitchhiker's will like this..."

I'm also kind of not sure you should use your ending statement about not having anything published. It seems kind of amateurish to point that out to an editor. That last paragraph is optional, so if I were you I'd leave it out.

And YES, keep your query letter to one page! You've probably heard that editors make a decision on whether or not to consider your novel based on the first page of your novel. They just don't have time to read full manuscripts of every novel that comes in. The same thing is true for your query letter, unfortunately. If you can't sell it in one page, it might get tossed.
