I'm with Michelle! I can't help myself... I love the name Frederick. I had a Cabbage Patch Koosa (the animal version) as a child that I carried EVERYWHERE... a little pink kitty, and Momma helped me turn in the application to change his name to Frederick. I never knew where I got that name (I was 4 or 5 at the time) until a few years later when I heard my mother talking about "the hurricane". We lived in Alabama when I was born, down on the bay in Fairhope. My mother was about 5 months pregnant with me when hurricane Frederick blasted through in 1979 and really tore up our little town. It's something that stuck in my head and so it comes up from time to time. Even my truck is named Fred, though for a different reason. I have two characters in one novel with biblical names... one is Eve (antagonist) and one is Delilah (protagonist). Delilah is a loving, sweet natured woman who just got stuck with a name her mother found pretty. Eve is... well... evil? In another novel, I chose a name on purpose... Anrai Athas (translated from the Irish is Henry Joy) because he's a freedom fighter like the legendary Henry Joy. Sometimes, a name.... is just a name :) ![]() |
