I know that some of the other contestants organised 'soundtracks' or playlists for their novels as one of their bonus assignments. I meant to, but never managed to complete it, because I knew I wanted two songs from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite - In The Hall of the Mountain King, and Morning Mood, but I was struggling to find other songs to go with them. In the Hall of the Mountain King is a great song for a fantasy novel, with a real sense of size and power and action. Morning Mood is a beautiful piece that makes you think of swans on lakes and perfect scenery. Quite different songs. Anyway, I just downloaded the entire Peer Gynt Suite from itunes and I'm off to see if it inspires me to write more words. So far I've done 2,725 words in total for NaNo, but my husband has taken the kids to his parents' place for the day to give me some peace and quiet as I battle this awful cold, and I'm determined to make the most of it. I need to not just keep up with my schedule, but try and get a little ahead if I can. Right, I'm off to write! See you all later!
