Thank you, I am glad you like it. You can do this. Maybe not the first time, very few people win the first time because they just don't really understand the extent of the undertaking. Don't panic though. There is a reason the founder of NaNoWriMo wrote a book titled No Plot No Problem.

You will find me on the nano boards here during November reminding those that are struggling that it's only 1667 words a day. If you get behind don't try to catch up all at once. Subtract the number of words you already have from 50k divide that by the number of days left to write and you have your new daily total. If you had problems writing 1667 words in a day there is no way you could wrtie 5000 in one day to catch up. You could however write 1700 a day until you did catch up.

First and foremost, remember this isn't so much a contest as it is a self challenge. If you don't make it this year come back next even more determined. Oh and before you start... Hog tie and gag your inner editor. Put her in an iron maiden and threaten her with the really horrible plot bunnies if she starts to break free.

Of course you will need to do something similar to your inner muse, but I highly suggest bribing her with chocolate, and a promise that if she will quietly collect the plot bunnies and torture your inner editor with them, you will use them in some short stories when Nano is over.

As to your writing... This is all you have ever written outside of maybe an English class for school? Wow. Though your work could use some polishing, I know people who have been writing most of their life that don't write as well as you. Your main problem is going to be having more month than plot but that is easily overcome by starting a new story from the before mentioned plot bunnies if it happens.

Let me highly suggest you do all of the bonus extra stuff during this prep challenge so that you can get into the group that does word wars. Those ten or fifteen minute sprints get me through every year.
