I can understand where your confusion is coming from. Day 8's bonus assignment is to use Writing or Die to do Day 8's assignment. As Robin said, Write or Die is a great way to turn off your inner editor and just write, as well as figure out how many words you can write in fifteen minutes, in order to figure out how long you must work on NaNo each day.
