Google drive is the best I've found. Last year I did more than half of my writing on my phone. I tried a standard office app but then I had to save my document to drive each time and it had many of the same problems that you pointed out with write or die. If I couldn't write on my phone, I don't think I could ever get to that 50k mark in a month.
