It's fine with us for Prep. NaNo doesn't care either; although technically you're supposed to start from scratch, they recognize "NaNo Rebels" who do things like this and even have forums dedicated to them. It's how I did my first NaNo project in 2008, which, incidentally, was the first novel I ever finished.
