MontyB, First of all please don't worry everything is coming along as it is supposed to! So no more over thinking and stressing yourself out, heck NaNo isn't even here yet and your stressing. Take a deep breath and give yourself a pat on the back. You will continue to learn about your characters, setting, plot, themes..well everything. The majority of writers who share with others about their journey, their process and the craft make it pretty clear that the real story is not in the outline, not in the first draft but somewhere in the second to fifth drafts. So you should continue learning new things all the way to the end. That is what is going to fuel your real story when you begin the process of editing/rewriting. Very few finish anywhere near where they believed they were going with their stories. As long as you have characters and/or an idea/plot that motivate and inspire you, you have all that you need! |
