Another Opinion: I think maybe we are making this more difficult than it needs to be? I don't see how music and lyrics are any different than writing. If you credit the singer/song writer that is all that is required legally. As long as you are not running their product/song into the ground advising people against purchasing or saying it is the devils music etc. you should be fine. It shouldn't be any different than using registered trademark names like McDonalds, Nike etc. As long as you find a way to include the singer and/or song writer you should be more than fine.
