I think it's really important to use NaNo to fit your own writerly goals, rather than the other way around. The spirit of the challenge is to write 50 000 new words on some project(s). We all know a novel isn't always 50k. Not all of us write novels in the same way. But to push those words out? Worth the challenge. I've been all kinds of a rebel for NaNo. Still deciding on a project to Prep this year. The last few years I think I've Prepped two ideas in the hopes that one would come together. Because I'm insane that way. |
