You know, probably better than anyone other than Goldilocks, how I feel about Shakespeare's words, stories, characters . . . they speak to me very strongly. But it's the performing of them that makes them blossom; the character nuances as interpreted by the actors and director, the subtlety (and non-subtlety) of the story lines. Making them accessible to modern audiences can be a great challenge. Twisting those lovely tropes to explore relationships, gender, sexuality, passion, rage, heartbreak.
