It would definitely had made for a "soap opera" being scandalous and all...I found it interesting that Mr. LeFroy had named his eldest daughter "Jane"...Makes me wonder if he was as shallow as he was made out to be, or if he was just caught up in the "conventions" of being dependent on relatives for his own support? I hadn't heard of her other "love interests" and had thought that she was content to be single after not being able to marry Tom...Hmmm...will have to look into it.
