Very interesting and well-written research!  I think that it is likely that Jane will indeed have based characters/situations in her novels on her own experiences. I think that many authors do so. It can be a way of dealing with things, and also, perhaps, to caution others. Or to write a different ending to your own life story. One that you would have preferred.   |
