This is what I have been trying to say for years. Sometimes the only way to write something is with a discriptive enough passive voice people forget that its passive voice. Sometimes you have to use adverbs. The sentence and story just need it. If you write like everyone else does then your just like everyone else. Should you understand your craft? Absolutely! Research it, study it, write about it, get better. Though we should strive to be politically correct sometimes it gets in the way of the point your trying to make. In that same point of view, sometimes writing properly, gets in the way of the story your trying to tell. Stop questioning yourself and just write. You know what feels right for the story. Use it!
