Since I belong to a couple writing groups, I think I know this person or their twin And when they really get a full head of steam, s/he will refuse to critique anyone else's work until they acknowledge her genius, or they write something remotely similar that may cause someone to think s/he was influenced and open her to legal action. There is major disbelief when they are told we are not meeting to hear their latest scribbling so s/he can arrive late, leave early, or intrude on someone else's turn. It is difficult to have confirmation of originality without reading anything else in the genre (though you can't read everything). Also, there may be expected tropes for that genre and readers will also end up disappointed. The only thing I know about taking a wagon train to Oregon involves the possibility of dysentery LOL Sharon from New Jersey |
