I adore Pride and Prejudice so much that when I joined BookBub.com (a website that will send you daily emails about free and reduced price books for any who may not know), I was fascinated to find all sorts of Pride and Prejudice sequels and variations. I have read several of books from both categories, but today I want to talk about a variation I just finished reading. The title is Mr Darcy to the Rescue. In this book, Elizabeth's father isn't in very good health so Elizabeth actually accepts Mr Collins. Jan writes to Miss Bingley to tell her and she reveals what she knows to her brother and Mr Darcy. The news disturbs Mr Darcy so much that he hurries off to Netherfield, borrowed from Mr Bingley hoping to find a way to persuade Elizabeth to cry off. I don't want to ruin the entire story in case any of you wish to go look for this book, but Mr Darcy sets off a long string of events that don't exactly go as he plans them to. I read the book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I strongly recommend it. |
