I wouldn't imagine somebody logging something that isn't done, but as Brandiwyn🎶 mentioned, this is also an exercise in discipline- getting yourself to write something or finish an assignment at least once every 72 hours.
Ideally, people would write every day, but real life (job, school, family, health etc) does get in the way sometimes, so there is the 72-hour grace period for when that happens. People are also more than welcome to work ahead, but that doesn't mean having something due on the 21st and finishing it on the 20th, and then taking a break until the 23rd, when the next assignment is due.
