I thought I hated it. I despised having to do the whole thing. I mean, I hadn't even written the book, so how could I possibly know who my audience is. I would know that after I wrote the darn thing. I mean, writing it would be the main goal, but how could I possibly do that before I even fully knew what my story was. And now, I've been working on this outline for months. I've thought about this story. I've dreamed about this story. I've cried over this story. And, I can tell you who my market is (I'm actually pretty proud of my market definition). So, while I think it's a valuable exercise and something important to think about, there is a part of me that wonders if the reason I can define my audience is because I know this story inside and out. I guess we'll see what happens next year. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
