About This Author
My name is Joy, and I love to write. Why poetry, here? Because poetry uplifts its writer, and if she is lucky enough, her readers, too. Around us, so many objects abound to write about. Once a poet starts with a smallest, most trivial object, he shall discover that his pen will spill out what is most delicate or most majestic hidden inside him. Since the classics sometimes dealt with lofty subjects with a lofty language, a person with poetry in his soul may incline to emulate that. That is understandable. Poetry does that to a person: it enlarges the soul and gives it wings. Yet, to really soar, a poet needs to take off from the ground. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **

Re: Re: The Last days of Pompey?
Why thank you so much, Joy.
It's good to be back. And I was away for some considerable time (possibly the longest amount of straight time I've ever been away since joining WDC almost so long ago I'm an original. No I wasn't in jail. But I was gettin' hitched to a fellow WDC-er! (and that's still a big secret so don't ask.) She'll announce herself by and by.
The strangest thing happened though, while I was away.
I actually turned into a writer. Imagine my astonishment.
Would be much obliged to swap some reads & stories and general yak.
Oh - and by the way - the laugh and cry bit?
That's from a rock and roll song I wrote when I was young and even more foolish than I am now.
cheers,

Captain Midnight
Just let me laugh when it's funny
and when it's sad, let me cry
