It can be. Lately, it's mostly been political, but there's only a small branch of the family around here, so it stays pretty civil. You know, after the obligatory comments about the food and whatnot.

I've always loved history. I do well with names and dates because of my autism, but it's always been the fact that history is just normal people doing stuff day in and day out that gets me. Like... think about how many people had to do exactly what they did for you to be here, you know? Humans are fundamentally the same now as they've ever been, and that's so fascinating because you can always understand them. And the best part is when they wrote something down and you can read their words and hear their voice through them. Conversations with our ancestors! It's amazing!
