Re: Let's talk Religion
I've invented religions, and avoided them entirely in other works, but I really hadn't thought much about religion in the context of this book, until I saw this post. And, now that I've been thinking on it a little while, I have some updates to character profiles and outlines and such to make...

I suppose Ellena was raised Catholic, but moved away from religion in exchange for science as she went to college and med school.

JD's parents may have taken him to Sunday School here and there, but not with regularity, and he has never taken Kim. Not once since her parent's funeral. If anything, he's angry at God for taking his brother and sister-in-law from them.

Kim has a general understanding of Christianity, believes in and tries to follow the teachings of love thy neighbor, and treat others as you would want to be treated, and helping those less fortunate.

Dr. Gonzalez was raised by a devoutly Catholic family, but she too turned away from God, to worship her mentor, Dr, Issac.

Billy shares some of his family's beliefs with Kim, and she likes what she hears and wants to learn more. (Needs more research)

At their moment of greatest need, when they are trying to find Bryan to find Tim, they all have a moment of internal prayer, and it will seem as though some form divine intervention brings them together.

So, while I'm not going to make it a major factor, understanding their religions and beliefs will add another layer of depth to these characters. Thank you for the inspiration Sarah Rae !
