Whichever you decide, I challenge you to find something sympathetic in the bandit leader. Just like every believable protagonist has flaws, every villain has something redeemable, something from their history that explains why they are the way they are. I loved the 1993 movie The Good Son, but it always bothered me that there was no explanation for why Macauley Caulkin's character was so evil. It seemed like a convenience that allowed the writers to justify mom's choice to save her nephew instead of her son. Cheers, Michelle |
