Do you have the answer to [why you are writing this story?] It isn't necessary, but often consciously or unconsciously there is an underlying message waiting to get out of your head. Your characters and ideas when allowed complete freedom will likely write a lot of the story. Asking questions as you move from point to point will help stimulate more ideas. To whom are you writing? What genre are you writing? What if this is a conspiracy from within an alien race on another planet or from within some government agency, or another robot or human goes crazy? Is power over the universe the goal or something else? Is there a message that must be understood in order to save humanity/robots/others? Even some silly stuff could be useful for this or other project. Have fun and enjoy the process.
