Send him/her away. Bribe him/her with a vacation and do not take no for an answer. There be treasure in them there hills of imagination set free to have a blast creating What-if. Anything goes when the imagination has complete freedom, even nonsense can make cents of great value for the beginning of a story idea. And you don't have to it into a stone. It can be changed as you enjoy your adventure wondering about the creative path. Go for it!
