I like the idea. Why is she determined? what about this situation sparks her to action while everyone else does nothing or ignores her pleas for help? How or why did this family become cursed? What past experiences has she had that inspire her to work to rid the family of the curse? Is the curse real or something that is a placebo effect?

Where and when did this happen? What is her name? What is the name of her young charge? Using the names will make this sentence more personal. Readers want to know and feel something about the characters and story.
