One thing I have oft thought about, re: character creation is Vulnerability. I like seeing failings in the characters that we come to love, those failings are often enough what I can relate to! (lol) I would far rather see a square peg not fitting into it's round hole of a setting - than the perfect char designed to suit their environment.

That said I'm not sure I managed to get such an idea into my own protagonist's background story this round *rubs chin*
