I actually had to study their expedition when I was in High school. It was very exciting! I was obsessed with Sacagawea. Only one guy died and that was of appendicitis. And possibly Dr Rush's Thunder Bolts..they can still find the places where expedition members.."answered the call". There's mercury left over in the holes Lewis and Clark dug for latrines.(eww!) Not only did Lewis and Clark have to make several over land portages, they also occasionally stepped on cacti while trying to reach the next river. Canoeing sure was exciting back then. Lol I still wouldn't want to be out in a canoe in the ocean though! I only have experience with rivers and lakes. |
