Just remember - you are not playing for sheep stations. The prep, NaNoWriMo, all of it is designed to get your writing juices flowing. If you don't quite get everything done in the PrepTober, you might miss out on a merit badge or some GPs or something, but does it matter? The fact is, you will write down a heap of stuff to prepare you for writing 50,000 words. You will be more ready than you were at the start. And come, NaNo, if you don't make the 50k words, does it matter? If you write 5k words, then that's 5k more words than you had before, and considering so many people say they will write something and don't, you are already ahead of most of the world. Remember, you don't need to finish what you are writing. You just need to write 50k words. And it is a first draft. if you have to go back come December and rewrite chunks, it doesn't matter. You can do this, you know you can. But if something happens, please don't beat yourself up over it. You are doing something very few people do. You are writing, creating art, and giving this a go. You've already won. |
